I really need to post more often!

Why hello my fellow bookies. It has been almost a week since I have posted any reviews, and I am not going to lie, but this has been the week from hell. Work was crazy busy all week, then of course parent teacher conferences were held, and a birthday party...and the list just keeps going (but not too busy, I can always find time to read). So this evening I have posted 3 new reviews.

I hope you enjoy my reviews as I enjoy writing them for you. I find that blogging is very therapeutic for me. It really brings my mind back to the books that I read (I have the tendency to forget what books are about) and I enjoy going back to the parts I loved about the book. So grab a bowl of ice cream or a glass of wine and sit back and enjoy my rants and raves of the books I have read this week. I am hoping to read some awesome books soon. I am in desperate need a pantie melting book. The last three were not able to deliver that. Yes, Dominic is still my Book Boyfriend. If only April 5th were here to deliver Sabato: The Cross also by MJ Fields, she is sure to deliver a pantie melter again.

As always, check back frequently and see what other great books would be worth your time. I would also love to hear what you guys are reading. Don't be afraid, hit me up. I am always desperate to try new authors. Give me your opinions. I am like a crack head when it comes to books, but instead of crack, I need books.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and had a Happy VD day (yes I purposely made it sound like a venereal disease because lets face it, it is and I would rather have just because gifts during the year instead of gifts on February 14th). Me and Mine had a wonderful evening with great family, great 80's movies, and lots of wine. I hope you all have a wonderful week, and remember when you are at work tomorrow, know that I am home laying around reading (Thank you federal reserve for the holiday) :P

Until next time goodnight!

One Kiss with a Rock Star by Amanda Lin & Shari Slade (Half-Life #2)

This book is not part of the Take Me: Twelve Tales of Dark Possession, but it is the second book in the Half-Life series. I COULD not not read the second book immediately. This book is 10 times better than the first in the series, as this one seems to have a plot.

This book follows Krist Mellas (Yes the bassist for Half-Life who had a menage with Lock and Hailey), and the subsequent consequences of the menage. After the video has gone viral, the media are hounding Krist to know if he is gay (no he is not, he is bi). Krist has always longed for Lock, but now that Hailey is in the picture, Krist is on his own. To help recover his bad boy image and to get the reporters off of his sex tape, his agent talks him into a "Fake" engagement with the pop princess Madeline Fox. Both of them need their images polished up, but can they fake it all the way or will real emotions get in the way? *spoiler alert* Yes, Krist does have another menage, with Maddy and her assistant Paige, but this time its all about pleasing him and not someone else.

I could not put this book down. It was well written and like I said had a plot. I loved to read Krist's story as in Three Nights, you really didn't get to connect with him. It was awesome to see his softer side, and what he would do to keep his band from falling a part.

Again, just like the first book, this is a great rainy day book. I do recommend you read Three Nights with a Rock Star before you read this book. I can hardly contain myself for Moe's story. His character has been pretty no existent in this series, and I am curious to see what the authors have in store for him.

The next book in the Take Me: Twelve Tales of Dark Possession is A Beautiful Prison by Jenika Snow. I have never read any of her books, and I hope that she doesn't disappoint me.

Three Nights with a Rock Star by Amber Lin & Shari Slade (Half-Life #1)

Three Nights is the 6th book in the Take Me: Twelve Tales of Dark Possession, and while it was a great book, it was by far the lightest read (which suited me just fine after reading Deliver by Pam Godwin).

This book follows Sunday school teacher Hailey. Hailey's sister Chloe has turned up pregnant after touring as a groupie with the rock bank Half-Life. Chloe refuses to tell Hailey who the baby daddy is, so Hailey takes it upon her self to find this lowlife and give her a piece of her mind. What she didnt expect was to fall head over heals for the lead singer of the group Lock. While the story did lack some plot, the sex scenes were fabulous which also included a menage with Hailey, Lock and Krist (the bassist for Half-Life). It is a hot scene, I'm still fanning myself to cool down.

If you find yourself bored on a rainy Sunday afternoon, then I would recommend this book, but if you are like me and looking for a darker book (hence why I am reading Take Me), then you could pass this one. Its not near dark enough as the last few books.

Deliver by Pam Godwin (Deliver #1)

WOW! I mean WOW! I am really REALLY scared to get any further into the Take Me: Twelve Dark Tales of Possession. I almost couldn't finish this book. This is not my cup of tea at all. I even woke up cry from nightmares that I was the one kidnapped and trained to be a sex slave, but of course it didn't stop me from finishing this book (it should have).

This book follows Liv and Josh. Liv has been the Deliver of 8 sex slaves. She trains them for 10 weeks and delivers them to their new masters. However Liv is a slave herself. Van is her master and together they kidnap men and women. Liv was kidnapped years ago and was to be sold, but Van was selfish and ruined her for the sale. Liv's newest assignment was to capture a virgin man and mold him to hate women for his new sick and twisted master.

Josh is a college student still living at home. He is a linebacker at the college, and he is good at it. On the way home from a game, Josh stumbles upon a beautiful girl (Liv) who is having car trouble. Josh offers to give her a ride, and she accepts. Until now, Josh's life has been great until he get to the home Liv directed him to. Josh's life will be changed forever. Can he save himself and the lost girl who stole him and his heart?

While this book was difficult to read (very graphic sexual scenes), the love story was one of boy meets girl, girl is in a lot of trouble, and boy will do anything even against his moral ethics to save her. After reading this book, I had to take a break before I continued on with the series. The next book is Vanquish and it follows Van and his story. Of course, I cant just read the 1st book and not the second. You know as well as I do that I am not hardwired that way.

This was my first time reading Pam Godwin and I have to say that even though this was the darkest book I have read so far in this collection, it was still a great read. I lover her writing and I can wait to read more of her books. As I said in my previous post she will be at Penned Con this year, and to be honest I am more than nervous to meet her. (Who am I kidding, I'm going to be like a kid in a candy store down there).

So do I recommend this book... Yes, but if you don't like graphic violence, non-consensual sex and BDSM, then this book is NOT for you.

Marco's Redemption by Lynda Chance

You have got to read this book, WOW! I mean WOW! This was a great book. Not a whole lot of kink like Fifty Shades, and definitely not like the last two books, where the girl get kidnapped and falls in love with her captor. Nope this girl enters an "arrangement"and everything works out to her advantage.

This book is the fourth book of Take Me: Twelve Dark Tales of Possession and it follows Natalie Lambert who has just moved to Huston and quite literal rear ends the very handsome Marco Donati's Audi. She of course has no insurance (as she borrowed the car from her cousin) no job, and very little money. Marco is immediately attracted to Natalie. So he comes up with the "arrangement" that Natalie to be his live in maid. However, as the book progresses, you come to realize that Marco is obsessed with Natalie, and he will do everything he can to keep her to himself.

This is the first book that I have read by Lynda Chance, and I can honestly say that I WILL be reading more from her. I love how she portrayed a strong dominate man, who in the end was able to come to the decision that he couldn't live life without a strong independent woman. Forget Christian Grey, give me Marco Donati any day of the week. He will melt your panties girls. I will be reading more of Lynda Chances books.

Now onto the fifth book. Deliver by Pam Godwin who will also be attending Penned Con in St. Louis this July.

Trust in Me by Skye Warren (Dark Nights #1)

Holy hell, I thought that Twist Me by Anna Zaires was a dark and taboo book, but after reading Trust in Me by Skye Warren has me rethinking that. Trust in me is the third book in the Take Me: Twelve Dark Tales of Possession (I skipped the second one as it was Pepper Winter's Destoryed), and its even darker than Twist Me.

Trust Me follows a whore (yes she really is one) named Mia. Long story short, Mia sees a murder and the murderer knows that she saw the crime. Mia hides out, but eventually goes back to the corner where the crime happened. Little does she know that the murderer Carlos Laguardia, is looking for her. He finds her and propositions her. He wants everything from her and she agrees for $200 bucks. Little did she know, that she would be enslaved to him. Carlos is not a good man, he is into drug, weapons and human trafficking. So basically he is an upstanding citizen (insert sarcasm).

After years of abuse, Mia finally has a chance at a normal life. His name is Tyler Martinez, an undercover FBI agent, and he also happens to be her childhood crush.

I was surprised that I enjoyed this book, as I have never read something so cruel. This book also brings out the reality that this is actually happening in our world. I truly believe that Skye Warren hit the nail on the head with this book. It opens your eyes to the world around us. I will be reading more of Skye Warrens books, but I don't think I can handle reading the series in order. These require small doses.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, but be warned that it is not for the faint of heart. This book goes deep into a world that most people cant fathom.

As, always let me know if you do read this book. I would love to know what you all thought of it.

Now onto the next book in Take Me: Twelve Tales of Dark Possession. Marco's Redemption by Lynda Chance.

Keep Me by Anna Zaires (Twist Me #2)

As you know I am in the process of reading all of the books in the Take Me: Twelve Tales of Dark Possession. And after reading Twist Me by Anna Zaires, I immediately had to read the next one in the series. Man am I glad I did. This book continues Nora and Julian's story. I of course am not going to give too much away, but needless to say, Julian is coming around and even though he doesn't say it, it is obvious he loves Nora. Thankfully there was no cliffhanger at the end, and the promise of a third book. You can bet your sweet ass I am going to start stalking the authors Facebook and website for more Julian, and I will have the third book on release day. There is just something about Julian that revs me up. He's the forbidden fruit of men *sigh*.

So again, read this series if you are wanting something a little darker. You will not be disappointed.

Twist Me by Anna Zaires (Twist Me #1)

Well another week has passed and I have failed to update my blog. My reading has slowed a bit. Finding book that peak my interest has been difficult. Between last Friday and today, I have only read 2 books. I had originally started The Lover's Secret by J. C. Reed, but apparently you need to read the Surrender Your Love series to understand The Lovers Secret. I was all kinds of confused so I had to stop reading it. However, in the mean time, I did start and finish Temptation by Robin Covington. It was a quick read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is what I would call a cookie cutter romance book. While it was a good book, it was a typical romance where girl meet boy, boy falls in love with girl, but doesn't want to admit he is in love with her....Blah Blah Blah. You know how it ends from there, and the search for my next book continued.

Then on Tuesday Feb. 3rd, Take me: Twelve Tales of Dark Possession was published and holy cow. I started the first book in the collection, and I was instantly hooked.

As you can see, there is a Pepper Winters Book in this collection, and I have made it no secret that I AM A FAN!!! (was that subtle enough). Her book in the collection is Destroyed, which I have already ranted and raved about, so there is now need to do it again (IT'S AWESOME). The second author that drew me to this collection is Kendall Ryan. I can not praise her enough either. Her book is Unravel Me and I read this book back in July of 2013, and I have read every book by Kendall Ryan. Unravel Me is darker than Kendall's normal writing, but none the less an amazing book. Like Pepper, Kendall is one of my favorites. So I thought what the hey I'll give this book collection a try. Boy Howdy and I glad that I did. The first book in the collection is Twist Me by Anna Zaires.

Like Pepper Winters, Anna Zaires likes to write dark romances, and let me tell you she is gooood at her job. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE needs a Julian Esguerra in their world. While Dominic (my first book boyfriend) is caring compassionate type, Julian is the exact opposite. He is dark and obsessed (an understatement) with the girl of his dreams.
Twist Me follows Nora Leston, she is just about to turn 18 when she goes out to a club where her and her friend Leah have a good time. Nora eventually finds her way to the bar and connects with a stranger across the bar. The attraction is instant. Julian of course has to walk over to her. Nora is intrigued by the tall dark handsome man. She is scared of him and ends up leave the club early. Fast forward and Nora has turned 18 and is at her High School graduation when she looks out into the crowd and who do you think she sees there? Yep Julian. He still gives her the creeps but thinks that he might have someone he knows graduating and it is just a coincidence. Before Nora met Julian, she has had a crush on a fellow class mate named Jake. And Jake has finally noticed Nora and asks her out on a date. Nora is of course excited. They go on a great first date with a walk in the park afterwards. Things are going smoothly until all of a sudden Jake and Nora are attacked. Nora remember seeing Jake getting beat up before everything fades to black. Nora's life is about to change. I'm sure you can guess who attacks Nora and Jake. I'll give you three guesses.

I have never read Anna Zaires before, and after reading this book, I am definitely hooked on her. I love how she isn't afraid to write about taboo subjects. I have enjoyed reading her work, and I have already started the second book in the series. It has not disappointed me yet. So if you have read any of Pepper Winters books and like them, then give Anna Zaires a try.

I am hoping to read more books and write more reviews, but I don't see that happening in the near future (my work schedule is getting all kinds of screwed up, and I am NOT a fan). So please stay tuned. I will try to update as often as possible. And of course should any of you read any of these books, let me know. Tell me what you thought of the book. I am always happy to read reviews. So please feel free to comment share your thoughts with me.
