Rebel (Renegades, #2) by Skye Jordan

Another incredible book for Skye Jordan. I am absolutely love listening Piper Goodeve read Skye's books on Audible. Skye and Piper pack a powerful punch together what an amazing duo.

Rubi Russo has spent her entire life trying to make her father proud, however, her father could care less about her. He only tolerates her because she was dropped on his door step, and California has steep paternity laws. Over the years, Rubi has hardened her heart to never let anyone in. She doesn't want the hurt of someone walking away from her, as her father has done it her entire life, and she refuses to let it happen anymore.

Enter Wes Lawson. He first caught a glimpse of Rubi in Reckless (the 1st book in the Renegades series), and he just can't stop thinking about her. He is the polar opposite of Rubi. He had a normal family and is very much loved by them. But he just isn't happy with his love life. He has always date the cute wholesome girls that you take home to mom and pop. But things change once Jax and Lexi (Wes and Rubi's best friends start dating).

Wes does an amazing job coaxing Rubi out of the safety of her carefully constructed walls, and Rubi has Wes realizing that he has never like cute girls, the complete opposite of Rubi. He just wants her. Their story is by far one of my favorites, as I instantly fell in love with Rubi Russo. Her character hit close to home as I have had to deal with family (not my parents thankfully) not caring about me as well (thankfully my husbands family love me enough that mine is inconsequential to me now). She is by far one of the best characters I have come across and how much her and my situation were alike was scary. I was glad to see her overcome her situation. Rubi deserved her HEA.

I am very curious to see what happens in Ricochet with Rachel and Ryker (FYI Piper's voice for him is to die for. I just hope its the same in the book). The sexual tension between them was quite obvious with their brief phone call. I can't wait to listen to Ricochet. I'm sure Skye won't disappoint me.
